Who I Am and What I Do

I’m Zak Radtke and I am a certified Neurosomatic Therapist and Personal Trainer.  I analyze the posture of my patients to determine effective treatment plans using manual therapy and corrective exercise.  Treatment and exercise brings the body back into balance in all 3 anatomical planes and restores proper biomechanics and functional movement while reducing pain and dysfunction.

My treatments are specifically tailored to the needs of each patient to make sure they receive the approach that works best for them.  I take your goals into account along with your unique postural distortions to determine the most effective treatment for you.  Whether you want to alleviate pain, perform better at your job or a hobby/activity, be a better athlete, play with your kids or grandkids, improve digestion, sleep better, breathe better, relieve stress, or you name it - I can help!

What is Neurosomatic Therapy?

Neurosomatic Therapy (NST) is an integrative form of manual therapy that identifies and corrects structural and biomechanical patterns in the body that cause chronic pain.  By carefully analyzing postural distortions and dysfunctional movement patterns to create a comprehensive therapy program, NST treats the underlying cause of your pain by addressing the five stages of rehabilitation:

                                  1.  Eliminate M
uscle Spasm

                                  2.  Restore Flexibility

                                  3.  Restore Proper Biomechanics
                                  4.  Increase Muscular Strength

                                  5.  Increase Muscular Endurance

The posture and movement assessment determines which muscles are short and tight, and which muscles are long and stretched.  Manual and massage therapy techniques are then applied to the short and tight muscles, and the long and stretched muscles are strengthened with exercise.  This brings the body into alignment which prevents degeneration of the joints, cartilage, and discs while also keeping the soft tissue and myofascial system free from painful trigger points and general aches that cause discomfort.

In addition to feeling better after treatment, patients are
educated on their condition and understand what is causing their pain and what they can do to prevent it.  Homework exercises are given for stretching the short and tight muscles and strengthening the weak and lengthened muscles.  Treatment results will progress more quickly and hold for longer if the homework is applied between sessions.

"But I just want a massage..."

Ok, great!  I can help you with that as well!  In addition to being trained and specialized in Neurosomatic Therapy I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist with experience working in a Franchise Spa, and I offer traditional Massage Therapy sessions for those who are interested.  Massage Therapy sessions are simpler yet still beneficial and they are the preference of many clients.  With massage therapy we will treat the full body or most of it without using postural analysis or giving homework exercises and stretches.  The pressure used is completely up to the client and I have developed skill in treating with light, medium, firm, and deep pressure. Swedish and/or deep tissue are both options as well as trigger point therapy. The goal is to ease muscle tension, induce relaxation, enhance blood flow, and reduce stress.  Massage Therapy sessions are optimal for those who want to relax and focus within on themselves, tuning out the stress and tasks of daily life.

About Zak

FB Laughing Pic_edited.jpg

Zak graduated from the Center for Neurosomatic Studies (CNS) in Clearwater, FL in February 2020 after completing an extensive 18 month training program.  Through CNS he became a Certified Neurosomatic Specialist, Licensed Massage Therapist, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer.  He discovered CNS and NST shortly after moving to Florida and receiving treatment from a graduate of CNS who helped him tremendously to find answers to his pain and overcome it.  He quickly fell in love with the innovative approach that NST provides of looking at the entire body as a whole to find the source of pain.

After graduating from CNS Zak was given the opportunity to work at St. John - Clark Pain Treatment Center alongside the Founder of Neurosomatic Therapy, Paul St. John, and the President of CNS, Randall Clark.  Here he was able to gain valuable experience and insights from masters of the craft who have several decades of experience of bodywork between them.  Zak worked here for 2.5 years before leaving to start Balanced Body Mobile Massage.  While getting his own business going Zak also worked at Massage Envy as a Licensed Massage Therapist for 6 months, gaining experience with traditional relaxation massage.

Zak has a passion for health, wellness, and fitness and strives to become his strongest and best self and get the most out of his life on Earth.  His favorite activities are strength training, yoga, basketball, and football.  He spends most of his free time outdoors at parks and beaches, and in gyms getting stronger.  His mission is to overcome physical challenges and continually reach for new levels of mastery in athletics and strength training while helping others to do the same.  He believes that at our core we are happy, healthy, strong, able-bodied beings and he strives to connect others to this truth of themselves.

Zak has a thirst for knowledge regarding the body, healing, treatment modalities, and exercise.  He is eager to continue learning new methods and incorporating them into his knowledge base for himself and his clients.  He connects daily to his heart and soul purpose of becoming his strongest and healthiest self while helping others do the same.
